Here's what some of our local celebs are hoping for when it comes to treating themselves and the ones they love this festive season.

The entertainer: Thando Thabethe, actress and TV presenter

Her wish list: What I’d like more than anything is for all South Africans to stay safe on the roads, and refrain from drinking and driving. When it comes to material things, I’d like the new Range Rover Evoque convertible in white, as well as new make-up.

On what makes the perfect gift: Thoughtfulness is key. You could give me anything in the world as long as you put some serious thought into it and it reflects how well you know me.

On gift shopping: Shop from the heart and make sure there’s meaning behind the gifts you give to people. Also, create lists and budgets that you can stick to.

Festive traditions: Swimming, working on Christmas day, then going home for lunch, then back to work at various gigs.

Favourite festive treats: Turkey. Turkey, and more turkey. Oh, and chocolate… hot-cross buns.

The musician: Mathew Gold, singer

His wish list: Rollerblades, a drone and a holiday in Sri Lanka.

On what makes the perfect gift: My perfect gift is often food. I’ve been lucky enough to get most things I’ve always wanted, but anything musical always puts a smile on my face.

Festive traditions: Spending time with loved ones.

On gift shopping: Don’t make it about money or the value. And don’t expect anything in return.

Favourite festive treats: As a Cape Town boy, I love seafood or just eating a Gatsby with the homies. I leave the treats to my girlfriend, as she’s an astute foodie.

The cover model: Kerusha Govender, Clicks cover model search winner

Her wish list: All I want for Christmas is a getaway where I can put my feet up, relax and be with my loved ones.

On what makes the perfect gift: Showing that you’re listening when your loved ones drop hints throughout the year is always a good idea.

Festive traditions: My dad and I always dance to Christmas carols after Christmas lunch (Michael Buble plays on repeat!)

On gift shopping: Start early! Try and buy gifts throughout the year. This also helps with the hefty Christmas shopping bill.

Favourite festive treats: My aunt makes the best turkey, glazed gammon and duck.

The beauty queen: Candice Abrahams, Mrs World 2016 and our cover star

Her wish list: I’d love to take a lovely family vacation on an exotic island.

On what makes the perfect gift: It’s more about the thought behind it; the fact that someone has taken time out to think of spoiling you is just amazing.

Festive traditions: On Christmas Eve we turn up the music and gather in the kitchen to start cooking.

On gift shopping: Don’t leave it until the last minute. Make sure you have a list and stick to it.

Favourite festive treats: My late grandmother’s Christmas cake!

The sports star: Sibusiso Vilakazi, professional soccer player and GNC ambassador

On what makes the perfect gift: It's always special for me when a person has picked up on the hints I've been putting out there and taken the effort to plan and research the gift. It doesn't have to be expensive, just thoughtful.

Festive traditions: We always gather as a family on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.

On gift shopping: Buy presents that people will actually use. They don’t have to be expensive; just put thought into it, and know that the person you are buying for will like and appreciate the gift.

Favourite festive treats: I’m very strict with my eating, even over the holidays, but I love meat, mashed potatoes and pumpkin during the festive season.
