7 ways to get your feet sandal-ready

Before you pull out your pretty summer sandals, take the time to give your winter feet some much-needed TLC.

Thick socks, boots and general neglect are all to blame for the rough, dry feet most of us end up with at the end of winter. Here’s how to get them sandal-worthy...

1. Soak them

Start off your treatment by soaking your weather-beaten feet for ten minutes. Add some Oh So Heavenly Foot Spa Marine Minerals Foot Soak to warm water in the bath (or your foot spa) and sit back while it works its magic.

2. Scrub them

Once your feet are dry, get rid of rough patches and hard heels. Invest in a good quality scrub, and gently rub it on and around your feet in circular motions. We love the Oh So Heavenly Foot Spa Marine Minerals Foot Scrub. For stubborn areas, you may want to use a pumice stone once a week.

3. Moisturise them

After exfoliation, your skin will be thirsty for some moisture: apply a rich moisturising cream all over, such as the Olive de Provence Foot Repair Cream. If you’re struggling with hard and unsightly heels, give the Clicks Nourishing Heel Balm a try.

4. Tend to your cuticles

Now that your skin is soft and smooth, it’s time to focus on your toenails. Before you tidy up your cuticles, use a good cuticle softener such as the Sally Hansen Cuticle Eraser + Balm. Once you’ve massaged the balm into your cuticles, use a cuticle stick to push your cuticles back gently. Try the Sorbet Cuticle Pusher.

5. Trim your toenails

Carefully trim your toenails by cutting them straight across with the Sorbet Nail Clipper – this shape will help prevent ingrown nails. You can file your nails ever so slightly if you find the edges a bit sharp.

6. Clean them

Once you’re happy with the shape of your nails, clean them with nail polish remover to ensure any old traces of nail varnish are removed. The Clicks Nail Enamel Remover, Acetone Free, works fast and effectively without damaging your nails.

7. Pretty them

Your toes are ready for that pretty nail polish. To avoid discolouration, always start off with a strong base coat such as the Tip Top Toughen Up Maxi Growth Base Coat. Prolong the longevity of your colour with the Tip Top Toughen Up Maxi Growth Top Coat.
