Clicks Helping Hand Trust donates flu vaccines to frontline healthcare workers

22 April 2020

The Clicks Helping Hand Trust has donated 10,000 flu vaccines to the frontline healthcare workers of the Western Cape Department of Social Development and Department of Health.

“We are proud to support our frontline healthcare workers who are working tirelessly to keep us safe during these trying times,” says Sanele Nyathi, Manager of the Clicks Helping Hand Trust.

“The flu vaccines will help boost their immunity so that they do not fall ill with influenza and as a result are able to continue with their important work in the fight against COVID-19.”

Nyathi said that the demand for flu vaccines had quadrupled in the past few weeks compared to the same period last year, and that remaining stock is limited.

“Priority has been given to vulnerable groups such as the elderly, immuno-compromised, pregnant women and children so that they can safeguard themselves during the flu season.”
