Salsa: Ingredients: 1 large tomato, diced. 1/2 jalapeno, minced. 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt. 1/2 avocado, diced. 1/4 cup chopped fresh coriander. 1/4 cup diced red onion. 2-3 tablespoons lemon juice. 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper. Combine tomato, onion, fresh green chilli, lemon juice, salt and pepper into chopping bowl. Add avocado and coriander and blend to a chunky consistency. Before first use, wash all removable parts in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the housing with a damp cloth. 2. Place the motor unit onto the non-slip mat and onto a level work surface. 3. Add your food to the chopping bowl. (Please refer to the recipe guide of this manual). 4. Fit the splash guard, making sure that the slots in the splash guard fit over the handles of the bowl. Note - the chopper will not operate unless the splash guard is fitted. 5. Fit the power unit - note that this will only fit correctly in two positions. 6. Plug the unit in, press down on the power unit's low or high switch for short lengths of time to produce a pulsing action. This will avoid over processing of the ingredients. 7. If the appliance struggles to operate, stop and remove some of the mixture. Continue processing the food in several batches. 8. After use, unplug the unit and dismantle. Caution: Depending upon the majority of foodstuffs. it is advisable to activate the Pulse button momentarily a few times in succession and then to continue operating until the required degree of fineness has been achieved. Do not remove any parts of the appliance during operation. Recipes: Breadcrumbs: The food chopper is excellent for making breadcrumbs that can be used in stuffing, for coating fish cakes or on an au gratin dish, such as macaroni cheese. Macaroni cheese: Ingredients and cooking information: 100g macaroni, cooked according to the packet instructions. 1 x thick slice of white bread, cubed. Crumb bread in the food chopper. 50g butter. 100g plain flour or sauce flour. 1 tsp mustard powder. 450 ml milk. 150g grated cheddar cheese. 1 x medium onion, chopped in the food chopper. 4 x rashers of streaky bacon, chopped in the food chopper. Salt and pepper to season. 1.2 litre oven-proof dish. Serves 2-4. Bake in oven at 200 degrees C for about 15-20 minutes. If necessary, grill until cheese is bubbling and golden. Tips: Cut the onion and bacon into pieces before chopping in the food chopper. This will allow for better control over the size that suits your preference. Directions: 1. Put the bread into the food chopper's glass bowl and make sure it is stable. 2. Assemble the food chopper and blend until you have breadcrumbs that suit your preference. Put on one side and repeat with the onion and the bacon. 3. Turn off and dismantle the food chopper. Clean as instructed in the instruction manual. 4. Place the prepared onion and bacon in a small frying pan and cook until the onion is soft and the bacon starting to brown. 5. Make the white sauce by melting the butter in a medium-sized pan. Add the flour, mustard and milk and stir until thick and smooth. Add half the cheese and some seasoning. Now add the cooked bacon and onion and the cooked macaroni and stir together until well combined. 6. Check seasoning and adjust to taste. 7. Tip the mixture into the oven proof dish. Mix the bread crumbs with the rest of the grated cheese and sprinkle on top of the macaroni cheese mixture. 8. Put into the oven or under the grill. The dish is ready when golden and bubbling. 9. Serve sprinkled with parsley and slices of tomato on top. This food chopper is excellent for chopping herbs and its compact size means you can keep it on a work surface and use it whenever it is needed. Here are two wonderful recipes for fresh chutney, using fresh herbs. These chutneys are perfect to serve with curry dishes, such as chicken tikka masala. Fresh coriander chutney: Ingredients and cooking information. Bunch of fresh coriander, chopped. 4 tbsp desiccated coconut. 1 tbsp soft brown sugar. 1 tsp peeled and chopped fresh ginger. 1/2 a small onion, chopped. 2 tbsp lemon juice. Tips: Remove stems from the coriander or chutney will be too coarse. If the blade gets clogged with ingredients, switch off and clean before continuing. Directions: 1. Fix the blade into the glass bowl, followed by all the prepared ingredients. Make sure that the non-slip mat is in place. 2. Assemble the food chopper and blend until you have a well-mixed chutney. 3. Turn off and dismantle the food chopper and clean as instructed in the instruction manual. 4. Serve chilled. Sweet mango chutney: Ingredients & cooking information. 1 x large, green mango, peeled and finely chopped. 1 x red chilli, de-seeded and finely chopped. 1 tsp garam masala. 1/2 tsp finely chopped, fresh ginger. 3 1/2 tbsp brown sugar. 4 tbsp white wine vinegar. Tips: Stored in an air-tight container, this chutney will keep in a fridge for up to 3 weeks. Directions: 1. Put all the prepared ingredients into the saucepan and bring to the boil. 2. Simmer for up to 1 hour or until the mango is tender. 3. Assemble the food chopper and blend until you have a roughly chopped chutney, or consistency to suit your taste. 4. Turn off and dismantle the food chopper and clean as instructed. 5. Serve with a curry dish. Purees, pates and baby food: The food chopper is excellent for making smooth purees and pates; such as stewed apples for apple sauce, soft fruits and icing sugar for a coulis, avocados for guacamole, cooked, minted peas for mushy peas and any foods suitable to turn into baby food. Quick and easy smoked mackerel pate: This recipe is really useful for a quick topping for crostini or as a dinner party snack or starter. Ingredients and cooking information. 2 x smoked mackerel fillets, cut into pieces 180g pack of Philadelphia cream cheese juice of half a lemon. Sourdough toast with rocket: Serves 2 as a starter. Covers 10-12 crostini. Tips: Tinned salmon can be used instead of smoked mackerel. Directions: 1. Put the bread into the food chopper's glass bowl and make sure it is stable. 2. Assemble the food chopper and blend until you have a smooth pate that suits your preference. 3. Turn off and dismantle the food chopper and clean as instructed in the instruction manual. 4. Serve with sourdough toast and fresh rocket leaves. Crumble mixes, nuts and biscuit bases: The food chopper is excellent for making a small amount of crumble and for crushing biscuits to sprinkle on desserts, or to use as a base for cheese cakes, etc. It also chops nuts easily and, because of the finger touch control, you can chop nuts to the size you require, and then use in cakes, on cakes, for decoration of cakes and desserts, in salads and stuffing, etc. Walnut crumble topping recipe: 25g walnuts. 50g golden castor sugar. 50g buffet cut into cubes. Stewed fruit of choice (e.g. apple and blackberry, plum or rhubarb) to fill a 500 ml pie dish. Serves: 2-4. Oven: 190 degrees C. Tips: Other nuts, such as almonds or pistachios, can be used. Create individual crumbles using ramekin dishes. Directions: 1. Put all the ingredients into the food chopper's glass bowl and make sure it is stable. 2. Assemble the food chopper and blend until you have a crumble mixture to suit your own preference. 3. Turn off and dismantle the food chopper and clean as instructed in the instruction manual. 4. Spoon the crumble mixture onto the prepared fruit and bake until golden brown. Cleaning and care: 1. Switch off and unplug the appliance. 2.
