Institutional use: the physician should calculate the desired total daily intake of water and energy for each infant based on his/her weight and energy requirements. The daily quantities should be divided into the desired number of feedings. The volume of water and the weight of Pre NAN powder should be measured precisely. Home use: in the absence of specific medical advice, the quantities listed below can be used to prepare each feed. The scoop in the tin, when filled and levelled delivers 5.4g. Wash your hands before preparing baby's formula. 2. Wash bottle, teat and cap or cup and spoon thoroughly until no milk remains. 3. Boil for 5 minutes. Leave covered until use. 4. Boil drinking water for 5 minutes; allow to cool. 5. Consult feeding table; pour exact amount of safe, drinkable, previously boiled, lukewarm water into sterilised bottle or cup. 6. Only use scoop# (must be level) provided. 7. Consult feeding table, add exact number of scoops for age of baby. 8. Shake bottle or stir cup with sterilised spoon until powder is fully dissolved. 9. Close tin tightly after each use. Store in a cool dry place. Use within 3 weeks after opening. 1 litre = 161g powder + 900ml water/scoop mass: 5.4g. Warnings:
Only prepare one bottle at a time. Feed immediately and follow the instructions exactly. Do not keep unfinished bottle, discard the contents, always hold the baby upright while feeding. Infant formula increases an infant's risk of ear infection. Leaving baby unattended may cause choking. Unboiled water, unsterilised bottles or incorrect dilution can make your baby ill. Incorrect storage, handling, preparation and feeding can potentially lead to adverse effects for the health of your baby. Cup feeding is safer than feeding from a bottle. Contra indications: Pre NAN is not suitable for use in infants with diagnosed cow's milk allergy, lactose intolerance, galactosaemia/glucose-galactose malabsorption. Important notice: breastmilk is best for babies. Before you decide to use an infant formula consult your health professional for advice.
