Adult fleas are killed before they lay eggs for a minimum of 4 weeks after treatment. Prac-Tic® completely eliminates flea egg production. Therefore the flea life cycle is broken. Prac-Tic® should be administered at monthly intervals when used as part of a treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis. For purposes of environmental flea control, it is recommended that Flego® aerosol (Reg. No.: L6759 Act 36 of 1947) is used. Elimination of ticks. Prac-Tic® is indicated for the elimination of the following tick species on dogs: Rhipicephalus sanguineus (kennel ticks) and heamophysalis elliptica (South African yellow dog tick). [Note; H. leachi was redescribed as H. elliptica. (Apanaskevich, Horak & Camicas, 2007)]. Acaricidal efficacy of one Prac-Tic® treatment will control the ticks currently present on the dog and prevent future tick infestation for a minimum of 4 weeks. Method of administration: Remove one Prac-tic pipette from the package, holding the pipette in an upright position. Tap the narrow part of the pipette to ensure the contents remain within the main body of the pipette. Break the top of the snap-off top along the scored line. Part the coat on the back of the animal between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze the pipette gently several times at one or two spots to empty the contents onto the skin. Apply the 5 ml pipette to 2-3 spots down the backline of large dogs so as to prevent runoff. (011) 929-2387.
