Usage instructions:
Directions for use: Dissolve the contents of one sachet in 250 ml of freshly boiled and cooled water prepared daily. Discard unused solution after 24 hours. Maintenance of adequate hydration: replacement after each bowel action: infants up to 1 year: 100 - 200 ml (1/2 - 1 cup). Children 1 - 5 years: 200 ml (1 cup). Older children and adults: enough to replace the fluid lost and quench thirst. In patients unable to take usual feeds/meals: infants up to one year: 120 ml/kg/day. Age 1 - 2 years: 100 ml/kg/day. Age 2 - 4 years: 85 ml/kg/day. Age 4 - 10 years: 70 ml/kg/day. Age over 10 years and adults: 2 - 3 litres/day. Treatment of mild to moderate dehydration: 50 - 100 ml/kg/body mass over the first 6 hours followed by maintenance therapy. If further fluid loss continues; refer to maintenance therapy.
