Scheduling status: S1.Proprietary name (and dosage form):Remicaine® jelly (gel).Composition:Each 100 g gel base contains:Lignocaine hydrochloride - 2 g.Preservatives:Methyl hydroxybenzoate - 0.06% m/m.Propyl hydroxybenzoate - 0.03% m/m.Pharmacological classification:A 13.3 surface anaesthetics.Pharmacological action:Lignocaine is a local anaesthetic of the amide group and may be used for local application to mucous membranes.Indications:Remicaine jelly may be used for surface anaesthesia of mucous membranes.
