Please read this instruction manual before using your Safeway product and keep it in a safe place for future reference. If you pass the appliance on to anyone else, please include this manual. We also recommend that you keep the packaging until you are satisfied that this product is operating correctly. Operation: This appliance should only be used to straighten hair. Do not use the appliance anywhere else, except on your hair. For best results wash, comb and dry hair until just damp to the touch (although the Safeway mini travel straightener can be used for touch-ups at any time). 1. Fully unwind the cord and plug the mini straightener into a power socket. 2. Place the appliance on a flat, level surface. Do not place the appliance on any heat-sensitive surfaces. 3. Slide the on/off switch (2) marked "I/O" (1) to switch the appliance on and allow the appliance to heat up. 4. Divide hair into manageable sections and comb through. Clip the upper layers on top of your head and out of the way. Work with the bottom layers first. 5. Take a small section of hair and pull it down and away from your scalp, while holding it tight. 6. Starting at the roots, clamp hair firmly between the plates and run the Safeway mini travel straightener down the entire hair strand, from root to tip, in one smooth stroke. Do not hold it in one area for a long period of time. 7. Repeat with all the sections of your hair. 8. When you are finished styling, slide the on/off switch to turn the unit off, unplug it, and allow it to cool down completely before cleaning or placing it in the travel bag. Styling tips: 1. To make sectioning easier, use butterfly hair clips to hold the sections apart. 2. Use small sections to make styling easier. 3. Start styling from the bottom layers and work towards the top layers. Care and cleaning: To clean the Safeway mini travel straightener, first ensure that the appliance is unplugged and completely cooled. Wipe with a damp sponge to clean and wipe dry with a dry cloth.
