Usage instructions:
Wafer cup recipe: Beat 3 large eggs, adding in 3/4 cup of granulated sugar. Add 1/2 cup melted butter and 2 tablespoons vanilla essence. Stir in 1 teaspoon baking powder and 1 cup all-purpose flour and blend, making a sticky, drip-by-spoon batter. Add 2-1/2 tbspoons batter into the centre of each wafer cup mould. Bake for 2-1/2 to 3 minutes, or until done. Cool wafer cups on a wire rack for 5 minutes until crispy. Add a scoop of your favourite ice cream and add some of your favourite toppings. Batter mixture allows for 10 servings. Directions for use: 12-month guarantee. Safety precautions and directions for use are included in the owner's manual. Before first use: Before using the appliance for the first time, peel off any promotional materials and packaging materials, and check that the cooking plates are clean and free of dust. If necessary, wipe over with a damp cloth. For best results, pour a teaspoon of vegetable oil on to the non-stick plates. Spread over with an absorbent kitchen towel and wipe off any excess oil. Clean the baking plates with a damp cloth or sponge. Important: grease the inside cooking surfaces of the wafer cup maker prior to first use. It is recommended that the first wafers cooked with this appliance are discarded, as some residual deposits may be present from the manufacturing process. The inner plates become very hot during operation. Take care when handling this product, especially when removing food after cooking. Operation: Important: check that the voltage indicated on the rating plate corresponds with that of your local network before connecting the appliance to the mains power supply. 1. Release the handle latch, then lift the lid to the open position. 2. Before baking the first wafer cups of the day, condition the moulds. 3. Close the lid. 4. Completely unwind the mains cable. 5. Connect the mains plug into a suitable wall outlet socket and switch on. Note: when your wafer cup maker is heated for the first time, it may emit some slight smoke or odour. This is normal and should disappear after 1 or 2 uses. This does not affect the safety of the appliance. However, as it may affect the flavour of the first wafer cups prepared in the wafer cup maker, it is recommended that these be discarded. 6. While the appliance is preheating, prepare the batter. 7. When the green ready light illuminates the wafer cup maker is preheated. 8. Use a heat-resistant brush to apply a generous coat of vegetable oil to each of the upper and lower cooking plate moulds. This will assist in the removal of the wafer cups after baking. Depending on the recipe, some wafer cups may be more difficult to remove and may require a heavier oil application. Some recipes contain enough oil and do not require as much. 9. Spoon two-and-a-half teaspoons of batter into the centre of each wafer cup mould. Important: do not overfill the wafer cup moulds. Batter will expand when baked. Results may vary by recipe. 10. After batter has been added, use the handle to lower the top lid. Note: the green ready light will cycle on and off as the unit regulates the baking temperature. 11. Bake for two-and-a-half to three minutes, or until done. 12. Press to unlatch the handle, then lift the lid to the open position. Note: cooking times may vary slightly based on the temperature of the wafer cup maker and batter recipe. 13. Use a heat-proof spatula to move wafer cups from the cooking plate to a cooling rack. Baked wafer cups can be filled and served immediately, or placed on a cooling rack for later use. Note: if additional wafer cups are to be baked, re-apply oil to the cooking plate moulds if needed. Keep the wafer cup maker closed to retain heat. Always wait until the green ready light illuminates, add batter and bake following the instructions previously described. 14. When all baking is complete, unplug the power cord from electric outlet. 15. Do not clean the unit until it is fully cooled. Recipes: Wafer cups: These delicious edible cups can be made quickly and easily using the basic sweet or savoury wafer batter recipe. These cups are then filled with any delicious filling that suits your preferences. Top with strawberry or chocolate sauce, toasted pecan nuts and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Blueberry and raspberry greek yoghurt cups: Cook a handful of blueberries and a handful of raspberries with 2 tbsp. sugar and simmer for 2 minutes, until a thick syrup is formed. Allow to cool down and spoon mixture into wafer cups. Top with yoghurt, swirl through and finish with a drizzle of honey and a few fresh blueberries. Cleaning and care: Always turn off the power and remove the plug after and before cleaning. The cooking plates are coated with a non-stick cooking surface, therefore little cleaning is required. Simply wipe cooking plates down with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. Do not use abrasive scouring pads, powders or cleaners. Do not clean in a dishwasher. Before next use, lightly grease the cooking plates for easy removal of cooked cakes. Environmentally friendly disposal: Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste, use separate collection facilities. Contact your local government for information regarding the collection systems available. If electrical products are disposed of in landfills or dumps, hazardous substances can leak into the groundwater and get into the food chain, damaging your health and wellbeing.
