3 Ways to get your skin glowing from the inside out
There is no quick fix when it comes to clear and glowing skin - topical treatments can help, but it’s always worth getting to grips with the actual issue - rather than just treating the symptom. Beauty therapist, Tamsin Banks, is here to help you get your glow on.

Skin issues - like breakouts and dehydration - are often linked to what we eat and drink. It's worth remembering that what you put in your body is just as important as what you put on it. Here are three habits you can incorporate into your daily routine to help your skin glow from the inside out.
Superfoods your skin will love
Remember the saying, “You are what you eat”? Well, thank goodness for fruits and vegetables like pomegranates, cranberries, citrus fruits, and yellow peppers that are packed are easily-accessible, collagen-stimulating, vitamin C.
“Foods that are high in vitamin C and E help keep your skin firm and elastic”, says Tamsin Banks, beauty therapist and founder of a local beauty brand. They also have antioxidants that help maintain a strong immune system, and assist in containing those breakouts and skin irritations," Banks adds.
Not sure which fruits and vegetables to add to your plate? Think about it this way: The brighter the colour, the brighter the glow.
Sweat it out
Cardiovascular exercise helps move the blood through your veins at an increased rate, leaving your skin looking refreshed and bright. “Working out at least 3 or 4 times a week is enough to see changes in your skin”, says Banks. "Getting your heart rate up can improve blood circulation, and pump oxygen and nutrients to the skin,” she says. “This keeps the skin healthy, promotes collagen production, and promotes new skin cells”.
Hydrate and sleep
If you have time for nothing else - prioritise drinking water and getting enough rest. While water should always be your main beverage of choice, organic teas like chamomile and rooibos, nourishing soups, and juicy fruits like melons are also effective ways to keep you - and your skin - hydrated.
Coconut water is also another option you can add to your day - it has powerful hydrating properties and is a good source of vitamin C as well as potassium, calcium, and magnesium.
