Setting spray

Want to keep your make-up from looking ‘cakey’? Diffuse your look with a setting spray — it’ll help create a more natural finish with the added benefit of sealing in your look for the day. What’s great about setting sprays is that you’ll be able to use them throughout the entire application process and most setting sprays cater to a variety of skin types.

1. Prep your skin

If you don’t have a serum or cream primer on hand, spritz Catrice Prime and Fine Multitalent Fixing Spray or Sorbet Hydrating Duo Primer Spray over your face before applying foundation to create a base for your foundation to cling to, while infusing a layer of moisture.

2. Enhance dewiness

Create a soft, dewy finish by spraying Revolution Hydrate & Fix Radiance Makeup Fixing Spray over your face as the last step of your make-up routine. It will make your skin feel plump and smooth with a comfortable, radiant finish. For a natural-looking finish that blurs imperfections, try Revlon Colorstay Lock Setting Mist.

3. Lock it all in

To keep signs of oiliness at bay and give a perfect matte finish every time, try Revolution Fixing Spray or Maybelline Lasting Fix Spray.

Setting powder

Great for oilier skin types, setting powders are great tools to use if you want to set your make-up, colour correct or contour. Some formulations have the tendency to settle into fine lines and wrinkles, so always use a light hand and a powder brush like the Real Techniques Powder Brush

1. Conceal

If you have dark marks and pigmentation, apply a skintone matching pressed powder over your foundation. Yardley Stayfast Pressed Powder is a reliable find that you can trust, and Revlon Photoready Candid Anti-pollution Setting Powder gives an airbrushed effect in an array of shades.

2. Colour correct

Brighten up your under eye area by using a yellow-toned setting powder to cancel out blue and purple hues and create a more awake look. Revolution Conceal & Fix Loose Setting Powder works wonders!

3. Set in place

Use a fine veil of translucent pressed powder like Catrice All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder to get rid of oil and shine.
