Slugging: The viral skincare hack for super soft skin

What is slugging?
In a nutshell, slugging is the use of a petroleum-based skincare product as the last step in your night-time skincare routine: cleanse, tone, serum, slug. How does slugging work?
By applying a thin layer of petroleum jelly over your serum and moisturiser, you effectively create an occlusive film to prevent moisture from escaping through your pores during the course of the night.
It's important to emphasise the words 'thin layer', though, as many of the beauty influencers showing off their slugging skincare routines online slather vast amounts of the slippery stuff onto their faces, which is unnecessary. As a rule of thumb (and to achieve the best results), less is more when trying out any beauty trend.
