Are you struggling with smelly feet? Don't despair! This condition is more common than you may think.
Poor personal hygiene, wearing shoes that have become contaminated in a way that allows bacteria or fungi to thrive in them, bacterial or fungal infections on the feet and excessive perspiration of the feet due to medical conditions such as thyroid disorders are just some of the causes of bad foot odours.
Waheed's top tips for managing smelly feet
- Use a mild soap to wash the feet regularly.
- Clip toe nails regularly to keep them short.
- Change socks daily and wear those made of cotton or absorbent material.
- Change your shoes if you suspect they are harbouring unpleasant odours.
- Use anti-fungal foot powders such as Dr Sole or Karroo or sprays such as Dr Sole Foot Spray.
- To treat fungal or bacterial skin infections appropriately, speak to a Clicks Pharmacist who can recommend OTC medications.
