How to take Clicks milk thistle liver tonic: Do not share medicines with any other person. Always take Clicks milk thistle liver tonic exactly as indicated or as your doctor has instructed you. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure. The normal dose is: one to two tablets daily with or after meals. Do not take more than the recommended dose. If you take or use more Clicks milk thistle liver tonic than you should: In the event of overdosage, consult your doctor or pharmacist. If neither is available, contact the nearest hospital or poison control centre. If you forget to take or give a dose of Clicks milk thistle liver tonic: Take your missed dose when you remember. Do not take a double dose to make up for forgotten individual doses. Effects when treatment with Clicks milk thistle liver tonic is stopped: If taking the dose as indicated, then there should be no adverse effects when stopping use of this medication. Side-effects: Clicks milk thistle liver tonic is well tolerated although some of the following side effects could occur in certain individuals. Nervous system disorder can cause allergic reactions including anaphylaxis, headache and itching. Gastrointestinal disorders: hyperacidity, epigastric pain, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea, nausea and heartburn. This medicine has not been evaluated by the Medicines Control Council. Diabetics need to be cautious as this medication can lower blood glucose levels. Take this medication 2 hours before or after antibiotics. Women with hormone sensitive conditions should avoid milk thistle. Clicks milk thistle liver tonic may lower blood sugar levels. Caution is advised in people with diabetes or low blood sugar. Special precautions: Clicks milk thistle liver tonic may interact with antibiotics reducing absorption of quinolones; therefore it is advisable to take this medication 2 hours before or after antibiotics. Effects on ability to drive and use machinery: the effect is unknown. Pregnancy and lactation: Because of the hormonal effect of some of the ingredients in Clicks milk thistle liver tonic it is not advised during pregnancy and lactation. Possible side-effects: Clicks milk thistle liver tonic can have side effects: allergic reactions including anaphylaxis, headache and itching. Increase in stomach acid, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea, nausea and heartburn. Not all side effects reported for clicks milk thistle liver tonic are included in this leaflet. Should your general health worsen or if you experience any untoward effects while taking this medicine, please consult your doctor, pharmacist or other health care professional for advice. If any of the following happens, stop taking clicks milk thistle liver tonic and tell your doctor immediately, or go to the casualty department at your nearest hospital: Spontaneous bleeding. Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, lack of muscle tone, and weakness. Increase in blood glucose levels in diabetic patients. If you notice any side effects not mentioned in this leaflet, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.
