Homoeopathic mode of action: Homoeopathy is a system of medicine, built on the philosophy that the body has an innate ability to heal itself and should be allowed to do so. Homoeopathic medicines work energetically to stimulate the body's innate ability to heal by promoting or supporting the functioning of various organ systems. It works according to the principle of 'likes cure like' such that a substance that causes symptoms in a healthy person, can be used to treat similar symptoms in a sick person. Over the last 300 years, observations, experiments, homoeopathic provings and clinical experience have resulted in the collection of symptoms associated with particular remedies which are recorded in traditional homoeopathic Materia Medica. This medicine has been compiled based on an in-depth knowledge of the tradition and application of homoeopathy. The relevant symptoms from the composite remedy pictures are as follows: Acidum nitricum is indicated for frequent, painful urination of scant dark urine containing blood and albumin. It treats ulceration of the urethra. Aconitum napellus has an anti-inflammatory action on the urinary tract and relieves urinary retention and dysuria. Arctostaphylos uva-ursi treats cystitis with blood, pus and mucus in the urine, frequent urination with severe bladder spasms and dysuria. Berberis vulgaris treats cystitis with mucus or a bright red sediment in the urine, burning dysuria, the sensation of some urine being retained and frequent urination. Cantharis vesicatoria acts on the renal system to treat nephritis, severe urging to pass urine and drop-by-drop difficult passing of burning urine. Equisetum hiemale acts mainly on the bladder to treat enuresis, sharp burning dysuria and frequent urination with sensation of incomplete passing of urine. Petroselinum crispum acts on the urinary tract to alleviate sudden urging to urinate, burning and tingling in the urethra and a milky discharge in the urine. Solanum dulcamara is indicated for the need to urinate when cold, painful micturition and thick mucous sediment in the urine. Terebinthina acts on mucous linings to relieve scanty painful urine, inflammation of the urethra and kidneys with blood in the urine. Thuja occidentalis acts on the urinary tract to treat inflammation and swelling of the urethra and severe cutting pains after urination. Indications: This is a homoeopathic medicine which assists in supporting the function of the bladder and renal system for treatment of bladder infections, bladder irritations, bladder weakness and involuntary urination. Also assists in the treatment of prediagnosed kidney disorders (nephritis). This medicine is an adjuvant for treatment of kidney disorders and may be used to complement existing medication for the treatment of these conditions. To be sure that serious conditions do not persist undetected, please ensure that kidney disorders are prediagnosed by a suitably qualified practitioner.
