What are my online payment options?

Our online payment options include:

  • Credit card: Visa or MasterCard
  • Debit card: Visa or MasterCard
  • Electronic funds transfer: (EFT) via PayU EFT Pro

I do not have a credit card; can I still shop online at Clicks?

Yes. Simply choose the EFT payment option and make a payment using your existing internet banking facility with our PayU EFT Pro payment option.

How does PayU EFT Pro work?

PayU EFT Pro is an instant electronic funds transfer (EFT) payment service that allows you to pay online directly using your existing internet banking facility. Transfers are secure and payments are instant. EFTs can be made using the following banks: ABSA, FNB, Nedbank, Capitec and Standard Bank.

PayU EFT Pro is perfect for shoppers who don't have a credit card to shop online with, because this payment solution enables you to pay for goods by electronically transferring funds using internet banking.

Is my credit card data safe?

Clicks subscribes to the highest security and encryption standards, allowing our customers to shop with absolute peace of mind!

Payments are managed through our secure payments provider PayU, who uses the necessary physical, electronic and administrative safeguards to ensure all online transactions are safe and secure.

3D Secure is an added layer of security required for all Clicks online transactions to ensure that they are safe and secure. It is mandated by the Card Associations and managed by South African banks. MasterCard uses a security product called SecureCode. Visa uses a security product call Verified by Visa.

With 3D Secure, your online credit and debit card payment is redirected to your bank's 3D Secure service (on your bank's website) to facilitate the authentication process for your online payment.

How do I know whether my credit card is activated for 3D Secure?

If your card has not yet been activated for 3D Secure, you should see a notification in the verification panel when paying by credit card.
MasterCard holders will be prompted to "Protect / Activate your MasterCard Online." Visa holders will be asked to "Activate Verified by Visa on your card."

How do I register for 3D Secure?

Some banks require a once-off registration for 3D Secure. If you have not registered for 3D Secure, all you need to do is follow the instructions for your bank below in order to activate your card:

Absa: 

No 3D Secure registration is needed for Absa cardholders.

When you are completing your order, a One Time Pin (OTP) will be sent to you via SMS or email. Enter this OTP to confirm your order.

First National Bank:

Log on to your FNB Online Banking profile and follow these prompts:

  • Select the "My Bank Accounts" tab
  • Select the "My Cards" sub tab
  • Click on "Activate Now" in the "Verified by Visa" column for the card that you would like to activate
  • Capture the relevant details
  • You will be sent an OTP to your mobile phone which you will then need to enter on your online banking profile

No 3D Secure registration is needed for Nedbank cardholders.

When you are completing your order, a One Time Pin (OTP) will be sent to you via SMS or email. Enter this OTP to confirm your order.

No 3D Secure registration is needed for Standard bank cardholders.

My bank is not listed, how do I enrol for 3D Secure / Payer Authentication?

Please contact your bank to find out how you can enrol for 3D Secure or Payer Authentication on your credit card.

Certain credit card issuers, such as American Express and Diners Club, do not subscribe to 3D Secure / Payer Authentication yet. These cardholders will not be required to enter a One-Time Pin or Password when shopping online.

Will I earn Clicks ClubCard Points for online purchases?

Yes, you will – exactly the same purchasing principles apply as if in-store, and points will be earned on online checkout.

Can I use my Clicks cashback/ClubCard Points to pay for online purchases?

No, not yet, but watch this space as this feature will be available in future.

Will my Discovery Vitality cashback on HealthyCare items apply at checkout?

Yes, exactly as if in-store, the cashback will apply on online checkout.

Can I redeem/use a gift voucher online?

Not currently, but watch this space as this will be possible in the near future.
