Usage instructions:
Once you have reached desired results...4. Rinsing:A. Rinse using warm water, without removing the highlight cap, until the water is clear.B. Slowly slide the highlight cap off.C. Wet hair and shampoo thoroughly once. Rinse well.D. Squeeze some aloe & protein conditioner (3), into the palm of your hand and massage it evenly into your hair.E. Leave for 3-5 minutes then rinse thoroughly and style as desired.Style as desired.Tip:Aloe is well known for its restorative properties in skin but is increasingly showing to have similar properties in hair care. This unique formula enriched with naturally derived essential oils will noticeably nourish and protect your hair after de-colouring.The 30ml aloe and protein conditioner can last up to 3 washes depending on length of hair.Note: the above provided instructions are for virgin/untreated hair. For coloured or treated results may vary.Hypersensitivity test:Carry out a hypersensitivity test 48 hrs before application of this product.Mix 1 portion highlighting powder and 2 portions developer into a smooth paste.Wash and dry a small area of skin behind the ear using soap and water. Apply a little of the mixed paste sufficient to cover an area of approximately 1cm.Leave for 24 hrs without washing, covering or touching.The colour can safely be used if no reddening, burning, itching or swelling is experienced in or around the test area.Hair strand test:Tip:You will need a pair of scissors, some tape and a timer.This will help you preview and time the best colour results for your hair.Snip a dry lock of hair from the behind your neck.Split into 3 and tape each together at one end.Put on gloves and apply the mixture (prepared in the hypersensitivity test) to each of the 3 strands.Leave for 15 minutes, and rinse & dry each of the strands at 15 minute intervals until you achieve the desired result. Note the time it took.You may also require a stop watch, old towels, brush, some cotton wool, a comb and shampoo.Before you start, please read the precautions and instructions carefully.1. Prepare hair for application: application should be carried out on dry hair.A. Hair must be thoroughly brushed.B. Style your hair the way you normally wear it daily. For instance if you style your hair with a fringe, comb that section of hair forward.C. Carefully put the highlight cap on without disturbing your style.D. Once you have secured the highlight cap you can tie the draw strings.E. Using the crotchet hook (7) found in the kit, draw strands of hair through the holes of the highlight cap. Ensure that each strand drawn is free of loops and knots at the root area.F. Use a match stick to measure the thickness of the strand. Comb the strands.G. Only draw strands you wish to highlight.G. Put on the provided protective apron and proceed to step 2.2. Highlights application:For professional results, make sure that the temperature of the mixture remains constant. Remains indoors and out of drafts.A. Put on gloves and secure the provided protective apron.B. Pour all the developer (2) in to the highlight powder jar (1).C. Mix into a smooth paste using the expert tint brush.D. Apply the mixture to the hair immediately with the expert tint brush.E. If your hair is lengthy, twist each strand and position it on top of the head after application.NB. Do not close the jar. Do not shake the mixture. Do not seal unused mixture.3. Timing your highlights:NB: the suggested processing time is merely a guide line.Present colour - suggested processing time.Black - dark brown - 50 mins.Dark brown - medium brown - 45 mins.Medium brown - light brown - 40 mins.Light brown - medium blonde - 35 mins.Medium blonde - light blonde - 25 mins.Decolouring process should be monitored at regular intervals.The following guide will determine how long the mixture should stay on your hair.Tip:Check your hair de-colouring regularly. Remember the darker your hair the longer it takes.The times in step 3 are dependent on the current condition and texture of your hair.In order to test for colour it is advisable to take a test strand every 15 minutes.Use cotton wool to wipe of all product from the selected strand.If you do not see the desired colour, comb the strand back into the mixture on your head and wait a further 15 minutes.Repeat this step with a different piece of hair every 15 minutes until you have achieved the desired result.Now that the colour is right continue to rinsing instructions.
