Moreish mocktail recipes for chilled summer sipping

These new takes on classic cocktails can be enjoyed as virgin mocktails, or you can add a kick from the drinks cabinet.

Zesty Tonic

Serves 1

Ingredients

1 lemon or lime
120ml good-quality tonic water
1 slice lemon or lime
Ice

Optional: Add a kick
40ml of your favourite gin

Method

1. Chill your favourite crystal glass, then half-fill it with ice.
2. Rub a lemon or lime wedge around the rim, squeeze it onto the ice and discard.
3. Add your tonic and gin (if using), a slice of lemon or lime, stir and enjoy!

Berry Delicious

Serves 4

Ingredients

60ml agave syrup (or real maple syrup)
1 litre soda water
Fresh berries of your choice for garnishing
Ice

Optional: Add a kick
120ml sloe gin 

Method

1. Fill four highball glasses with ice and add 30ml sloe gin to each (if using).
2. Drizzle 15ml agave syrup into each glass and top up with soda water. Garnish with fresh berries and take a slow sip.

Picante De La Casa

Serves 1

Ingredients

30ml fresh lime juice
10 stalks fresh coriander
1 fresh red chilli, sliced
2cm piece of lemongrass, lightly bashed
15ml agave syrup
Handful of ice cubes
Fresh coriander for garnishing
Splash of ginger beer (optional)

Optional: Give it a kick
60ml tequila

Method

1. Shake all the ingredients vigorously in a cocktail shaker.
2. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice and garnish with the chilli, lemongrass stalk and some fresh coriander.

Cosmopolitan

Serves 5

Ingredients

250ml cranberry juice
125ml pomegranate juice (essential for this version)
125ml freshly squeezed lime juice
Thinly sliced lime for garnishing
Ice

Optional: Give it a kick
500ml good-quality vodka 
250ml Cointreau

Method

1. Combine all the ingredients in a large jug.
2. Half-fill a cocktail shaker with ice, pour in a third of the mixture and shake for a full minute (or there about).
3. Pour into a wide-rimmed martini glass, garnish with a slice of lime and serve immediately.
