Please read this instruction manual before using your Safeway product and keep it in a safe place for future reference. If you pass the appliance on to anyone else, please include this manual. We also recommend you keep the packaging until you are satisfied that this product is operating correctly. Operation: Ensure the appliance is unplugged or switched off. Ensure all the appliance's parts are properly in place before operation. Plug the appliance's cord into a suitable power outlet. Place ingredients in smoothie maker jug, ensuring there are no liquids leaking from the appliance. Select pulse speed for chopping ice. Place the lid onto the jug and insert the stopper or stir stick into the hole in the lid. Fit the jug base onto the motor unit. Lock the jug in place by turning clockwise. The silver indicators on the side of the unit will line up. Select the desired speed setting. Place a clean bowl underneath the spout, and then select the lowest speed setting. Lift the handle and juice will pour from the spout. Press spout handle down to stop flow of liquid and switch the appliance off. Disconnect from power source after operation. Important: do not operate the appliance for longer than three consecutive minutes. A one-minute break is required between every three minutes of operation. Operate appliance on a solid, dry and steady surface. Dismantling the appliance: When dismantling the appliance, first remove the spout. Remove the jug from the motor base by turning the jug anti-clockwise. Remove the silicone seal. Re-assembling the appliance: After cleaning, put the silicone seal back onto the jug. Assemble the jug, big silicone seal and blade base by turning them clockwise into the jar base. Please note: the jug dripper should be fitted onto the motor base dripper. Screw the tap into the jug base. Ensure the appliance body is completely dry before plugging the appliance into the mains outlet. Crushed ice: If you're making crushed ice for cocktails, make sure the smoothie maker is clean, and then rinse it out thoroughly. The slightest trace of detergent will flatten any drink to which it is added. Ice "cubes" come in many shapes and sizes. You'll have to experiment with the ice from your ice cube tray. Put half to three quarters of a cup of ice into the smoothie maker, and add 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of fresh, cold water. Put the lid on the smoothie maker, then press and release 3 or 4 times. Check the results and adjust. Too much blending will reduce the ice to liquid, too little will merely chip the edges/corners of the ice. Don't try to crush ice without adding water to the jug. Don't be tempted simply to increase the amount of ice and blend for longer. This won't work. Too much ice will never give you satisfactory results. Alcoholic cocktails: Tropical cocktail: 200 ml ginger beer. 150 g melon, roughly chopped. 40 ml rum. 5 ice cubes. Put everything into the jug, ice cubes last. Run at low for 10 seconds, then high for 10 seconds. Cosmopolitan: 100 ml cranberry juice. 50 ml vodka. 50 ml cointreau. Put everything into the jug. Run at low for 10 seconds. Bailey's coffee cocktail: 100 ml milk. 40 g vanilla ice cream. 1/2 tsp instant coffee. 40 ml Bailey's or Irish cream liqueur. 3 ice cubes. Put everything into the jug, ice cubes last. Run at low for 10 seconds, then high for S5 seconds. Strawberry gin fizz: 100 ml lemonade. 60 ml gin. 1 tsp lemon juice. 6 strawberries, stalks removed. 5 ice cubes. Put everything into the jug, ice cubes last. Run at low for 10 seconds, then high for 10 seconds. Pina colada: 200 ml pineapple juice. 100 ml malibu. 30 ml single cream. 4 ice cubes. Put everything into the jug, ice cubes last. Run at low for 15 seconds, then high for 10 seconds. Smoothies: Breakfast smoothie: 4 tbsp natural yoghurt. 200 ml milk. 2 tbsp oatmeal or porridge oats. 1 large banana, roughly chopped. 2 tsp honey. 2 apples, cored and roughly chopped. 4 ice cubes. Put everything into the jug, ice cubes last. Run at low for 10 seconds, then high for 15 seconds. Apple and mango smoothie: 600 ml apple juice. 1 ripe mango. 6 ice cubes. Stone, peel and roughly chop the mango. Put everything into the jug, ice cubes last. Run at low for 10 seconds, then at high for 10 seconds. Berry fruity smoothie: 300 ml apple juice. 90 g raspberries. 12 strawberries, stalks removed. 4 ice cubes. Put everything in the jug, ice cubes last. Run at low for 15 seconds, then high for 15 seconds. Peach and apricot smoothie: 4 halves of tinned apricot (in juice). 80 ml apricot juice (from tin). 2 peaches. 4 tbsp natural yoghurt. 200 ml milk. 2 tsp honey. 6 ice cubes. Stone and roughly chop the peaches. Put everything into the jug, ice cubes last. Run at low for 15 seconds, then high for 15 seconds. Care and cleaning: We recommend that you clean the appliance immediately after use. Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance and unplug from socket. Clean the outside of the motor unit with a damp cloth. Avoid the use of abrasive detergents as this may scratch the surface finishing. Use extreme caution when washing the blender jar by hand; the blades are sharp. Never immerse the motor unit into water.
this smoothie maker is great for the price but i wished i'd saved the money and bought a proper one it struggles to get all the fruit blended, i haven't even risked ice yet it even leaves BANANAS lumpy after a few minutes of blending, mixing, pulsing tap broke and also struggles to screw on straight ice lolly molds work okay
I like this blender and have been using it for long. I lost the rubber in the jar and can not find it anywhere. I have checked on click around me, phoned the call centre and still nothing. Where can I find the parts
