Blend coconut water and spinach until smooth. Add avocado and pineapple chunks until creamy. Enjoy. Preparing for use: Carefully unpack the appliance and remove all packaging materials. Check that all parts and accessories are enclosed in the package and that the unit is not damaged. Handle the blending blade (8) and the grinding blade (9) attachments by their collars only. Warning: Avoid touching the blades. Blade attachments are very sharp. Please use extreme care when handling. Failure to do so can result in personal injury. The appliance is equipped with safety interlock systems. These will not operate if the blender cup has not been correctly located onto the power base. Wash all parts, except the power base, in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry. Suggested drying times: Before starting to assemble the accessories to the power base, always ensure that the power cord is unplugged from the wall socket. Step 1: place the power base on a flat surface. Ensure the power cord is not connected at this stage. Step 2: choose the desired blender cup size and assemble the blade attachment according to the food type you wish to blend. Cup selection - suitable for - maximum capacity. Large blender cup with cross blade attachment - blending smoothies, juices, baby foods or any creamy textured foods - 680 ml. Small blender cup with flat blade attachment - grinding coffee beans, spices, hard cheese, chocolate and nuts into powders. Perfect for chopping oats, nuts and seeds - 340 ml. Step 3: prepare the ingredients you wish to blend and add some water. Peel or core any fruits/vegetables and cut them into smaller pieces before placing them into the selected blender cup. Do not overfill the cups to avoid spillage. Hints: For optimum results, it is suggested not to fill the cup more than halfway with food before blending. Cut solid foods into approximately 1.5 to 2 cm cubes. Important: Do not fill the blender cups with hot liquids or carbonated beverages. Build-up of pressure from released gases can cause the container to burst, resulting in possible injuries. Do not operate the appliance when the cups are empty. Do not operate the appliance for more than 2 minutes. Recommended usage time is 2 minutes ON and 3 minutes OFF. Step 4: connect the blade attachment, blade facing down, to the blender cup by screwing it securely to the top of the blender cup. If you are using the large blender cup, then use the cross blade attachment for mixing. If you are using the small blender cup, then use the flat blade attachment for milling/grinding. Warning: Always ensure the blade attachment is tightly and securely screwed on to the blender cup before operating the appliance. The blades are very sharp. Always handle the blade attachments with care. Do not touch the blades with your hands, as this may cause injuries. Step 5: connect the power cord to the wall outlet. Step 6: connect the blender cup to the power base by placing the blade attachment end onto the top of the power base, fitting the tabs into the slots on the power base. The blender will start operating as soon as the blender cup is twisted clockwise into position on the power base. Note: the blender will not operate unless the 3 locking tabs on the blade attachment are properly fitted into the 3 slots on the power base. Step 7: to stop the blender operation, twist the blender cup anti-clockwise until it stops. Switch the power off at the wall socket before lifting up the blender cup from the power base. Warning: Operate the blender for only as long as is needed to reach the right consistency. Do not operate the motor continuously for more than 2 minutes at a time. Allow the motor to rest for 3 minutes before continuing. Note: the blender will not operate unless the 3 locking tabs on the blade attachment are properly fitted into the 3 slots on the power base. Step 8: turn the blender cup around so that the blade attachment end is facing upwards. Unscrew the blade attachment off the cup. Step 9: attach the blender cup with the comfort cup ring to enjoy the freshly made drink directly out of the cup. Hints: To remove pulp or larger food particles from your drink, screw the shaker lid (with holes) onto the cup. After grinding coffee beans or nuts, you may choose to attach the shaker lid directly onto the blender cup and shake the contents out. To ensure that the content stays fresh, screw one of the supplied resealable lids onto the cup. For a quick drink to go, screw on the travel lid (with locking spout) to enjoy fresh juice, blended drinks or smoothies. Turn the lid clockwise to lock securely onto the large blending cup. Flip over the pouring spout and press firmly to lock. Lock the travel lid spout to take your drink to go. Recipes: The small blender cup (340 ml) is ideal for making a quick muesli, or a nutty topping for porridge. Basic muesli: Ingredients to be blended: 12 almonds. 12 hazelnuts. 6 ready-to-eat dried apricots, cut in half. 4 ready-to-eat dried figs, cut in half. Handful dried cranberries. Ingredients for muesli base, to which the blended ingredients will be added: In a bowl, measure: 75 g porridge oats (jumbo). 25 g barley or rye flakes. 1 tbsp wheat germ or flaked bran. NB: for a crisper muesli, this mixture can be spread on a baking tray and toasted in the oven (200 degrees C) for about 10 minutes. Shake and turn half way through cooking and allow to cool before using. Makes approximately 300 ml (this will depend on the dried fruits and seeds used). Tips: Prepare all the ingredients before you start blending. Be careful not to over blend the ingredients, or they will just stick together. These fruits are only suggestions and you can add whatever you like, such as dried apple, mango, cherries, goji berries and chai seeds. Directions: 1. Prepare all the ingredients as suggested. 2. Put the ingredients into the blender cup, fit on the blade attachment and fit onto power base as directed in instruction manual and switch on. 3. After all the ingredients have been chopped to the desired consistency, switch off and remove the blender cup as shown in the instruction manual. 4. Stir the blended mix into the bowl of oats, etc. Nuts and seeds have excellent health-giving properties and are an excellent source of protein, so chopping them up to add as a topping to dishes such as porridge and salad is an excellent idea. Nutty mix: Ingredients: 5 brazil nuts. 5 hazelnuts. Handful of pumpkin seeds. Handful of chia seeds. 5 dried apricots. Makes approximately 150 ml. Tips: You can use any mix of seeds and dried fruits, the recipe is just a guideline on what to use. Directions: 1. Prepare all the ingredients as suggested. 2. Put the ingredients into the blender cup, fit on the blade attachment, fit onto power base as directed in the instruction manual and switch on. 3. Hand in non-working electrical equipment to an appropriate waste disposal centre.
I love using this machine but my containers have developed cracks and I cannot find replacements- making it currently useless
I bought this in October 2016. Initially it was GREAT! Loved it! But then after 10 months the motor started to smoke every time I made a smoothie so I would blend in 10 sec intervals. Then it started releasing brown liquid! Now after 12 months it doesn't even blend. Just makes a horrible noise and smokes up. Really disappointed!
