Entiro The Complete Probiotic Capsules 10

Detailed Description:
Binds. Lines. Protects. Entiro™ capsules: Read all of this leaflet carefully because it contains important information for you. Entiro™ is available without a doctor's prescription. Nevertheless you still need to use Entiro™ carefully to get the best results from it. Keep this leaflet, you may need to read it again. Ask your pharmacist if you need more information or advice. Scheduling status: Not scheduled. Proprietary name (and dosage form): Entiro™ (hard vegetable capsules). What Entiro™ contains: Each Entiro™ capsule contains a minimum of 200 million colony forming units of viable enterococcus mundtii (ST4SA) and lactobacillus plantarum (423). Pharmacological classification: A 32.2 other. Complementary medicine - nutritional substance. What Entiro™ is used for: Entiro™ is a probiotic supplement that contains a combination of two lactic acid producing bacteria, namely enterococcus mundtii (ST4SA) and Lactobacillus plantarum (423). Probiotic organisms are live micro-organisms that confer a health benefit on the host when taken in sufficient quantities. In order to confer these health benefits, probiotics must have the ability to survive inside the gut, must be able to multiply and adhere to the lining of the gut and must compete with harmful organisms for these adhesion sites. Entiro™ has been scientifically formulated to meet these requirements, ensuring that a significant number of viable cells reach the intestines to colonise and multiply. The lactic acid bacteria in Entiro™ have been shown to produce antimicrobial peptides, which protect against a number of harmful bacteria Entiro™ thus forms a barrier of protection inside the gut; effectively keeping harmful organisms from adhering to the intestinal lining and destroying them. This barrier of protection extends throughout the entire gut, as Entiro™ strains have been shown to adhere to both the small and large bowel: Lactobacillus plantarum (423) adheres predominantly to the small bowel. Enterococcus mundtii (ST4SA) adheres predominantly to the large bowel. Consequently, Entiro™ lines the entire intestinal tract. Entiro™ is used in combination with a healthy diet to support and maintain the balance of micro-organisms in the gut. Entiro™ is also used to reduce side-effects from treatment with antibiotics and during periods of digestive disturbances, including loose stools. Presentation of Entiro™: Blister strips of 10 capsules each packed in an outer carton in pack sizes of 10's and 30's. Identification of Entiro™: White, hard, vegetable capsule containing a white powder with a slightly sweet taste and odour. Date of publication of this patient information leaflet: August 2012. Entiro™ the complete probiotic: Blinds effectively. Lines the entire guts. Protects the entire gut against harmful bacteria. What are the benefits of probiotics? Antibiotics disrupt gut flora balance. An imbalance between harmful and beneficial gut bacteria can lead to digestive disturbances. Probiotics restore the imbalance, and may therefore prevent digestive disturbances, including diarrhoea. Benefits of Entiro™: Scientifically proven. Award-winning research. Protects against harmful bacteria. Entiro™ may help to: Restore gut balance during episodes of digestive disturbances, including diarrhoea. Reduce side-effects from antibiotic use. Suitable for vegetarians. Contents: Each Entiro™ capsule contains a minimum of 200 million CFU of viable enterococcus mundtii (ST4SA) and viable Lactobacillus plantarum (423). CFU = colony forming units. P.O. Box 1096, Durbanville, 7551. Tel: (021) 943-4200. Email: [email protected] Web:

Usage instructions:
Taking Entiro™ with food and drink: Entiro™ can be taken with or without food, preferably in the morning, with breakfast. Entiro™ may be used in combination with antibiotics, as prescribed by your doctor. Since the use of antibiotics with Entiro™ may inhibit the growth of or kill the active enterococcus mundtii and lactobacillus plantarum strains in Entiro™, take Entiro™ at least two hours apart from the prescribed antibiotics (see "how to take Entiro™"). For this reason it is further advised to take Entiro™ for an additional 5 to 7 days after the course of antibiotics has been completed. If you are taking medicines to suppress your immune system, please speak to your doctor before taking Entiro™. How to take Entiro™: Use with antibiotics: Take two Entiro™ capsules daily to restore intestinal flora during antibiotic therapy, or as prescribed by a healthcare professional. Take Entiro™ at least two hours apart from prescribed antibiotics. Continue to take Entiro™ for at least 5 to 7 days after the completion of the course of antibiotics (see "taking Entiro™ with other medicines"). Use as a long-term probiotic supplement: Take one Entiro™ capsule per day, with breakfast, as a daily probiotic supplement to maintain and balance intestinal flora, or as prescribed by a healthcare professional. Entiro™ is suitable for children (over 6 months) and adults. If you forget to take Entiro™: Always take Entiro™ as prescribed. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If you do not remember the missed dose until the next dose is due, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule of one to two capsules daily. Do not take a double dose to make up for forgotten individual doses. Storage and disposing of Entiro™: Store in dry place at or below 25 degrees C. Keep the blisters in the outer carton until required for use. Do not take Entiro™ after the expiry date stated on the packaging. Return all unused Entiro™ to your pharmacist. Do not dispose of unused Entiro™ in drains or sewerage systems (e.g. toilets). Dosage and directions for use: Take two capsules daily during antibiotic therapy, or as prescribed by a healthcare professional. See enclosed leaflet for full details.
