Recipes: The griller is ideal for cooking meat such as beef steaks, lamb steaks and gammon steaks with a grilled vegetable accompaniment. Gammon steak with grilled tomatoes: Select good-quality meat and vegetables for a simple, low-fat, high-protein meal. Ingredients and cooking information: 1 x gammon steak. 2 tomatoes, cut in half and seasoned with salt and freshly ground pepper. Serves: 1. Temperature: select high to sear the meat, then reduce to medium, depending on the tenderness and size of the meat. Tips: Grill apple or pineapple rings to serve with this dish. Directions: 1. Prepare the tomatoes and cut the rind of the gammon steak to prevent it from curling up during grilling. 2. Plug in and switch the griller on. Spray cooking surfaces with oil and select high setting. 3. When the light goes out, place gammon steaks and tomatoes, cut side down, onto the griller. Check after 3 minutes and continue cooking until gammon and tomatoes are cooked to your preference. 4. Switch off the griller and clean according to instructions. 5. Serve. Classic steak sandwich: Select good-quality steak and a good bread, such as a sour dough, for a simple, low-fat, high-protein meal. Ingredients and cooking information: 1 x sirloin or rump steak, seasoned with sea salt and black pepper. 2 x thick slices of a white, sour dough loaf spread with butter and mustard (optional). To serve: Serve with a side salad and French fries. Serves: 1. Cook the steak first on the grill. Temperature: select high to sear the meat, then reduce to medium, depending on the tenderness and size of the meat. Once the steak has been put into the bread to make the sandwich, cook on high to get a toasted finish. Tips: You could use bacon instead of steak for a classic BLT (bacon, lettuce and tomato) sandwich. 1. Prepare the steak and the bread. 2. Plug in and switch on the griller. Spray the cooking surfaces with oil and select high setting. 3. When the ready light goes on, place the steak onto the griller. Check after 3 minutes and continue cooking until the steak is cooked to your preference. 4. Switch off the griller and clean according to the instructions. 5. Switch the griller back on. 6. Put the cooked steak into the prepared bread to make a sandwich. 7. When the ready light goes on, put the sandwich onto the griller on high. Close the lid and cook for 3 - 8 minutes, or until you achieve the level of toasting that suits your taste. 8. Serve. Soy, ginger and honey-marinated chicken pieces, served with a salad. A moist, slightly crisp and well-caramelised chicken dish. Makes a good warm salad or sandwich filling. Ingredients and cooking information: 2 x chicken breasts, cut into strips. Marinade: 1 tbsp. honey. Piece of root ginger, grated. 1 x tbsp. soya sauce, light. Mixed leave salad, to serve. Dressing: Juice of 2 limes. 1 tbsp. sugar. 1 tbsp. sesame oil. 1 tbsp. soy sauce. Whisk all the above ingredients together. Serves: 2. Temperature: select high setting to sear the meat and then turn to medium, depending on the tenderness and size of the meat. Tips: Marinate meat overnight in the fridge, in a closed container. Cooking time will vary according to the size of chicken strips and your own preference. Always make sure that the chicken is well cooked and that juices run clear (70 degrees C+). Directions: 1. Mix all the marinade ingredients together in an airtight container. Add the chicken breast strips and make sure they are well coated with the marinade. Leave in the fridge overnight. 2. Plug in and switch on the griller. Spray the cooking surfaces with oil and select high setting. 3. When the ready light comes on, place the marinated chicken strips onto the griller bottom plate and cook until golden, sticky and tender (5 -10 minutes). 4. Switch the unit off. 5. Serve on top of the mixed leaf salad and drizzle over the dressing. The griller is ideal for making toasted sandwiches or panini. You can cook ingredients on the grill before making the perfect panini. Operating instructions: Completely unwind the mains cable. Connect the mains plug into a suitable wall outlet socket and switch on. Close the griller. You will notice that the red and green lights will come on, indicating that the griller has begun preheating. It will take approximately 3 minutes to reach the correct temperature; the green ready light will then go off. Open the griller. Place the sandwich, meat or other foods on the bottom cooking plate. Close the griller. The ready light will then cycle on and off as the temperature is maintained. Cook for about 3 to 8 minutes, or until the food is cooked golden brown, adjusting the time to suit your own individual taste. When the food is cooked, use the handle to open the lid. Remove the food with the help of a plastic spatula. Never use metal tongs or a knife, as these can cause damage to the non-stick coating of the cooking plates. Once you have finished cooking, disconnect the plug from the wall outlet and leave unit open to cool.
